PRIVATE VILLA
BASTIDE IN PROVENCE
The project involves the restructuring and extension of a 350m² house in Provence. The teams from HOCH for architecture and CHHO for interior design and decoration worked hand in hand from the very beginning to deliver a fully mastered and entirely bespoke project.
The clients, originally from the Paris region, gave us free rein to design a family home adapted to contemporary uses, with the desire to still preserve the charm of the existing bastide and its surroundings.
They wanted the house to be as open as possible to the outside, with the living spaces on the garden level being mostly open-plan and conceived as a single volume. The façade was modified, and the extensions were positioned to meet this request, creating framed views of the surrounding nature in each zone.
The furniture is a mix of new pieces, items that already belonged to the clients, and some antiques restored for the occasion. We enjoy combining iconic design pieces with more anonymous vintage objects or those with a particular history.
