PRIVATE APARTMENT
PARIS 7
The project is a 50m² (538 sqft) apartment that an investor wanted to renovate for medium-term rental. Located on Rue Saint-Dominique in Paris, the goal was to preserve the typical charm of this Haussmannian apartment by keeping the moldings, cornices, and fireplace.
The bathroom replaced the kitchen to create a true master suite. The living and dining rooms are arranged in succession, with a double curtain instead of the double-glazed doors often found in these kinds of spaces. The kitchen, reduced to its strict minimum, is integrated into this area and creates a small gateway to the entrance space.
The walnut contrasts with the oak of the restored parquet flooring, and green and white accents can be found in various areas of the apartment. The blend of metals and mirror tones blurs the line between eras and adds to the ambiguity of the apartment’s time period of construction.
