PRIVATE APARTMENT
BOULOGNE
The project is a 90m² (970 sqft) apartment for a family of investors in Boulogne, near Paris. The brief was to restructure the entire apartment and transform it into a three-bedroom unit that could be rented for short-term stays.
The clients gave us carte blanche to design and furnish the space with a limited budget and asked us to avoid the “catalogue effect,” focusing instead on giving the apartment its own unique character.
They wanted the apartment to be both highly practical and fully equipped, but it should not resemble any other short-term rental apartment found in Paris. The goal was to attract a specific type of client, such as design enthusiasts.
The furnishings are a mix of new pieces and some that were bargain-hunted at the “marché aux puces” or found through trusted antique resellers. We enjoy combining iconic design pieces with more anonymous vintage or brand-new objects. The handles from the existing kitchen were disassembled and repurposed for use on the new one.
